Robert Isadore “Rick” Kaminsky, M.D. died peacefully age 79 at his dwelling in Houston, TX on March 26, 2022. He was born May well 17, 1942 in Houston, TX to Dave and Edith Kaminsky. He grew up in Previous Braeswood surrounded by spouse and children and numerous buddies exactly where he and his brother Stephen put in many afternoons enjoying athletics and earning lifelong friendships. He attended Roberts Elementary University, Perishing Center School and Bellaire Substantial School in which he distinguished himself in superior university athletics and was on the All-Higher Houston basketball staff. He matriculated at Yale University in 1960. With a close-knit group, he became a 3-time All-Ivy Leaguer and an All-American basketball participant his senior 12 months. He was elected to Yale mystery culture Cranium and Bones as a senior. Throughout his time at Yale, he designed lifelong close friends with whom he stayed in shut speak to with for the relaxation of his everyday living. Following Yale, he followed in his father’s footsteps to turn out to be a health practitioner, deciding on to go to Baylor Medical Faculty. He retired at the age of 56 to shell out time with the enjoy of his daily life, Jan, and go after his other passions. In his retirement, he was an avid golfer, participating in just about each day the study course was open. He had 3 holes in just one and liked household golfing outings. He turned a productive enterprise investor and intently adopted the inventory current market. He attended weekly Longhorn recruiting luncheons. He was also actively associated with and adored by his 8 grandchildren. He was inducted into various Basketball Corridor of Fames, which includes Texas Large College Hall of Fame and JCC Corridor of Fame. He was chosen to be on the NABC Silver Anniversary Crew identified at the 1989 Closing Four. He usually regaled buddies and loved ones with tales, usually breaking into laughter before he arrived at the punchline.
He is survived by his beloved spouse of 25 a long time Jan his small children Loran Kaminsky, Alicia and Alex Garnes and Kirk and Kathleen Kaminsky his grandchildren Sarah, Jack and George Kaminsky, Ethan and Will Garnes and Charlie, Caroline and Quinn Kaminsky and his brother Stephen and Diane Kaminsky.
The funeral service will be held Tuesday March 29, 2022 at 1:30PM in the Bender Chapel at Beth Yeshurun Publish Oak Cemetery 1037 N. Post Oak, Houston, Texas.
